This paper examines the application of the Quranic concept of li-ta‘ārafu (to know one another) in a Cultural Exchange Programme aimed at strengthening the faith and identity of Japanese Muslim youth. The study aims to explore how intercultural engagement in Malaysia can help address challenges faced by these youth, such as limited Islamic education and identity crises. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through participant observation, interviews, and written reflections from nine participants. The findings suggest that the programme, grounded in li-ta‘ārafu, facilitated mutual understanding, dialogue, and cultural exchange, enhancing participants' Islamic identity and sense of belonging. The paper concludes that such programmes offer an effective da’wah strategy for Muslim youth in non-Muslim-majority societies.
