PENGURUSAN DAN PENERAPAN ELEMEN DAKWAH TERHADAP PESAKIT DIALISIS THE MANAGEMENT AND APPLICATION OF DA’WAH ELEMENTS AMONG DIALYSIS PATIENTS

Abstract

This study examines the integration of da’wah elements in the management of dialysis patients at the Pusat Rawatan Dialisis Islah (PRDI) as an effort to enhance the quality of holistic and faith-friendly healthcare services. The increasing number of dialysis patients in Malaysia has highlighted the need to develop a management model that not only focuses on medical aspects but also considers the spiritual needs of patients. The study addresses issues such as the high cost of treatment, emotional stress faced by patients, and the lack of da’wah elements in existing dialysis centers. The research methodology employs a qualitative approach through structured interviews involving seven informants, including management and patients at PRDI. Thematic analysis is used to identify key elements in the management of dialysis patients, emphasizing a da’wah-friendly approach. Findings indicate that providing facilities such as prayer spaces, ablution powders, spiritual counseling support, and regular religious activities significantly enhance the mental and spiritual well-being of dialysis patients. This study underscores that healthcare management integrating da’wah elements can improve patient experiences, aid the healing process, and serve as a model for other institutions in the healthcare sector. The study's implications call for collaboration between the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM), JAKIM, and JAIN to expand the concept of da’wah-friendly dialysis centers, thereby addressing the needs of the Madani community in Malaysia more comprehensively.
